    • Sölden

The Munich International Ski Club is thrilled to kick off the 2026/27 winter season with
Sölden as the destination for our annual opening trip! Come join us for guaranteed snow on one of Austria's most iconic resorts, boasting two glaciers reaching up to 3,200 meters.

When: Thursday, December 3rd to Sunday, December 6th, 2026

Transportation: TBD — we are currently evaluating whether we will travel by coach or carpool. Details will be confirmed closer to the registration date.

Where we're staying: This year we're trying something new! We'll be staying at the Riders In Sölden, located right in the heart of the village on Dorfstraße 92. The hotel blends Tyrolean charm with a modern, fun vibe — think cozy double rooms with free WiFi and bathrobes, a Finnish sauna, steam bath, indoor pool with whirlpool, and the legendary Riders Bar on-site. The cable cars to Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl are just a short walk away, and the ski bus stop is right outside the door.

Accommodation is in double occupancy rooms. As always, first come, first served — those who register and pay early will have priority for room assignments and pairing preferences. Please indicate any rooming requests to the trip organiser at registration.

Price: TBD — pricing will be confirmed once transportation arrangements are finalized. Watch this space!

As always, we'll kick things off Thursday evening with one of our legendary get-togethers — a chance to reunite with old friends, meet new faces, and toast the start of another great ski season. The Riders Bar will be waiting for us!

    Registration

Registration will open following our Oktoberfest event. As we expect strong demand, registration will initially be open to current members only (i.e. those who have already paid their 2026/27 membership renewal).

Not yet a member? We encourage you to join the club to secure your spot.

Once registered, you will receive an invoice with payment details. Your place is only guaranteed upon receipt of payment.

Disclaimer: The organisers are purely coordinating travel and skiing possibilities and take no responsibility for any incidents, accidents, or other detrimental events occurring before, during, or after these activities. You travel, ski, and socialise at your own risk as part of a purely private sporting activity. By registering you agree to these terms and the club's cancellation policy.

The details of the trip will follow later in the year.

    Zillertal Long Weekend

    PRELIMINARY INFORMATION

This year the Zillertal long weekend trip is back, allowing for 3 or 4 days skiing including the weekend during the peak snow period, staying in a 4-star hotel in single and twin/double-rooms with 3/4 board. The hotel is a couple of kilometers away from the Hintertux station, allowing for access via car to Hintertux, Hochfügen, Kaltenbach, Zell am Ziller, Mayrhofen and others for more variety than staying near just one resort. These are fantastic resorts for skiers and boarders of all levels, with modern gondolas taking you to the top of long red and blue runs, as well as some of the best in-resort and off-piste skiing and boarding in Austria.

For maximum flexibility in your choice of ski days we're going by private car or public transport. The club will help with car-pooling. Après-Ski each day will be at the hotel (drinks and snacks included) or Après-Ski Hohenhaus Tenne in Hintertux (if we ski there on the day). Skiing is "officially" Friday-Sunday, but many people will also ski on Thursday. Provisional plan is Zell am Ziller on Thursday, Mayrhofen on Friday, Hintertux on Saturday and Kaltenbach on Sunday.

Price includes: Hotel provides breakfast buffet, 5-course dinner (drinks not included), afternoon tea/coffee/juice/cake/snacks, wellness area with heated pool, for two nights Friday to Sunday. Skipass is not included.

Transport is private by car or public transport, and we will help organize car-pooling. Car transport costs are fixed at 156 Euros to be shared among all occupants including driver if travelling from Munich - this shall include all costs (fuel, road tolls, infringement tickets, operating costs, damage, insurance, depreciation, etc). This adds flexibility (leaving time, optional skiing on Thursday, choice of resort) and is cheaper than a bus (which would be something like 90 Euro per person, as it's not many people and the bus has to come from Munich twice).

Payment terms: Places are only considered reserved once payment has been received in full. Specify at the time of booking your preferences of with whom you want to share a room - eg with the name of your partner, or gender preference, or whatever. If the trip takes place but you cannot attend for any reason we will do our best to find someone to take your place, and refund anything the club did not have to pay on your behalf minus a 30 Euro cancellation fee (for club members only, one cancellation without cancellation fee per season); beyond that you need to get your own travel insurance. Of course, if the trip cannot or does not take place you will be promptly refunded 100%.

Emergency phone number: A WhatsApp group will be created for the weekend, which you can voluntarily join for communicating with others in the group.

The meeting point is the hotel on Friday evening, but of course many people will arrange to meet up to ski together on Friday morning via the WhatsApp group.
